Located in the South West of France, Occitanie is made up of the two regions previously labeled Languedoc-Roussillon and the Pyrénées-Orientales.
With the Languedoc known as “the other Provence”, the region runs from the Rhone River over to the Eastern Pyrenees and the Spanish border, taking in the Mediterranean beaches and towns along the way and extending northwards to the lower portion of the mountainous Massif Central.
There are many similarities with Provence in climate, landscapes, perched villages and scenery – without all the crowds and typically at a lower cost.
