In this episode we meet up with Olivier ‘Teuai’ Lenoir, a true local Tahitian from the Austral Islands who brings us on an adventurous tour of the interior of this wonderful island and through the Papenoo Valley with it’s stunning scenery, walks and waterfalls. As well as being a passionate and knowledgeable guide, Teuai also leads a local Tahitian dance troupe and believes that the cultural heritage of the islands must be protected and preserved for future generations.
We recorded a separate conversation with Teuai which will be released shortly where he outlines to us, his concerns for the continuation of the Tahitian Culture and the role which tourism may play to help preserve the local traditions.
