Okinawa Prefecture consists of a group of 113 tropical islands in the Pacific Ocean located midway between Japan and Taiwan. Formerly known as the ancient Ryukyu Kingdom, Okinawa has a distinctly different feel culturally from the rest of Japan. I caught up with my friends in Okinawa to learn more about this unique and wonderful destination.
