Mae Hong Son, Thailand: Connecting Deeper With Communities

Founder of the Fair Tourism Foundation Charlotte chats with Kate of the community-based tourism (CBT) created in the Mae Hong Son province, specifically the Huay Pu Keng village. We discuss this magical sliver of Northern Thailand only accessed by braving the winding roads through the mountains. This is the perfect spot for learning, immersing and engaging in rural Thai culture. The Huay Pu Keng village is full of the famous women with rings creating their long neck. Before CBT these women were displayed for tourists benefits. Today, you can engage with them as fellow human beings, learn their ways and connect with them through arts, food and music.
