Perched on a hilltop, the hotel has pride of place within grounds of more than 200 acres, bursting with 120,000 young pine, birch and larch trees. It would be perfectly understandable to simply sit and ponder the sprawling semi-alpine landscapes, however the hotel’s proximity to the Golden Circle makes it an ideal base from which to launch into outdoor adventures. The town of Selfoss is just a 15-minute drive away and from here you can walk to the Reykjadalur Hot Spring River.

A visit to Iceland isn’t complete without a dip in one of the thermal pools.
All guests will have access to the thermal bath at the property which includes a pool with warm geothermal water and a sauna.
There is also a hot tub which is a geothermal pool with water that comes from 300 meters beneath the surface. It comes up through the lava, which means that it’s collecting all the minerals.
The hotel are trying to imitate natural baths and make them more authentic, so don’t expect facilities with marble walls and floors.
With a temperature of around 36-40 degrees Celcius (96 to 104 Fahrenheit), the thermal pool is about 8 x 4 meters in size and 1,2 meters deep.
The warm water flows through the pool constantly, which ensures that the current always keeps the pool clean.
Sand can be seen on the bottom which comes with the water, and stair and benches can sometimes turn a green color, due to the algae that grow in hot water. But it´s all natural dirt.
Due to the richness of the minerals in the water, bathing is said to have therapeutic and healing benefits.
